Imagine

Here is my entry to Scrap the Girls this month and there is a funny story to it too. I actually started this layout in January for a previous challenge they had, but it just didn't work for me. When I saw this month's challenge, with the blues and browns, I just pulled it out and continued with it. I loved the feathers on the mood board and it gave me an idea to incorporate fibres and ribbon (something I have an abundance of in my stash and very rarely use).

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill

Embellishments: Maya Road stencil, texture paste, WOW embossing powder - Gold, Metallic Melts - Red Velvet, Distress Stain - Broken China, ribbon, fibres, tassel, Funky Flair, Charms Creations star, feathers, chipboard word

Hello Gorgeous

Well, it sure has been a while that I have created and therefore since I have entered any challenges. When I saw this challenge over at Kraft Plus, I was excited to give it a go. I am in love with yellow at the moment, so I thought I would pull out an old Kaisercraft kit I had and it just fell together so well with this photo of my daughter at 4 months old. The challenge was to use roses in 3 different ways, so I first stencilled with a Kaisercraft die and texture paste. I then used some paper with roses and added the sticker from the kit onto the yellow paper, cutting it in half first, so I can use the other piece somewhere else ;). There are also some paper flower roses and a Funky Flair with a rose on it.

Products used:

Cardstock: Kraft

Paper: Kaisercraft kit

Embellishments: Kaisercraft kit sticker & die cuts, Distress Ink - Spun Sugar, Kaisercraft stencil, texture paste, Funky Flair, paper & fabric flowers, The Craft Stall vellum die cut, brad

13th Birthday

Challenge #4 over at D-Lish Scraps Cybercrop for January was Simply Stencilled. You had to incorporate 3 different stencils into your project. I had had some recent lessons in mixed media & was in the throws of experimenting, so this project was fun! I used texture paste with 2 of my stencils, then sprayed gold spray over a 3rd. Here is my son on his 13th birthday. I had given the camera to my oldest & asked her to take the photos, unfortunately they were all a bit blurry, & this was the better of the lot.

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Embellishments: Kaisercraft stencils, texture paste, Dylusions spray - Tangerine Dream, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine - Black Velvet, Gold, Kaisercraft mists - Yellow, Orange, candles, brads, twine, Pressed Petals chipboard word, Memento ink, D-Lish enamel dots
Love

Challenge #3 over at D-Lish Scraps Cybercrop for January was a colour challenge. Using, white, pink, mint & gold glitter was easy as I love this colour combo. I did have to scour the computer & my 1000's of photos to find the perfect photo - taken way back in 2011! Here is my oldest on her 11th birthday party day where she went horseriding with her friends. I have added a pocket page with the remaining photos of the day.

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill, Bella Girls - Gold

Challenge #2 over at D-Lish Scraps Cybercrop for January, was Super Splendid 'S'. You had to create a project using sequins, stars & stamps along with anything else that started with 'S'. I managed to add squares & scallops (on the paper - cheating, I know!), stencil, sprays, and scraps of paper. Here is my layout with my funny daughter :)

You & Me

Last month I decided to give a Cybercrop Challenge a go over at D-Lish Scraps. They have 4 different challenges & you can do 1 or you can do all of them. I have never done one of these challenges, so I wasn't sure how I would go. I started at number 1 & was very happy to get them all done. The first challenge was Diagonal Design & here is my son with our sweet, late puppy who we lost on Christmas Eve

Cue 123...

Over at Scrap the Boys this month the challenge was Numbers. I thought of many ideas & chose to try and get some older photos scrapped. When our son got a new bike for Christmas in 2015, his Dad took him to the local park where he decided to try out the jumps. Well! as if we didn't think he wouldn't fall off! Sure enough he came home looking like this. I was shocked but not really worried, to which he thought it was hilarious that I was at all concerned. After all, he is a boy & he's tough!

Products used:

Cardstock: American Crafts
Paper: Scraps - Kaisercraft
Embellishments: Kaisercraft stencil, texture paste, Kaisercraft mist - Yellow, Dylusions ink - Tangerine Dream, Fresh Lime, London Blue, washi tape, Charms Creations arrow, brads, flair, Kaisercraft alpha die, Thickers - Doll, Prima alpha stamps, ek success sticker
Not That Colour!

Here is my entry for the challenge over at White With 1 this month, with the colour being Princess Pink. I knew I had to scrap these photos of my youngest, ready for her end of year dance concert in her pink tutu. She never seems to make a serious face when her photo is taken, but when she goes on stage, she always looks beautiful. When her dance teacher announced that the class would be wearing pink for their performance, Tabitha's repsonse was exactly that - Not that colour! Pink is her least favourite colour! When buying her own tutu, I couldn't even look at the pretty pink ones, it had to be her most favourite colour of blue! She's a funny kid ;)

Products used:

Cardstock: American Crafts, Bazzill Bling
Paper: Scraps
Embellishments: Kaisercraft stencil, texture paste, lace, Little Birdie chipboard frame, buttons, metal embellishments, Pink Paislee chipboard embellishment, fabric & paper flowers, Martha Stewart border punch, Mister Huey's mists - Pretty Pink, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine - Pink, Chalkboard mist - Cotton Candy, flair, Prima alphas
Be Proud of Yourself

Over at 123 Challenge blog, the criteria for the challenge was the colour blue, the word proud & the technique, stars. I have really been trying to use up some of my stash, so when I found this kit from Funky Flairs, I thought it would fit in perfectly. At first I thought it was too simple, but the more I looked at it, the more I loved it - even hubby commented on how much he liked it! So, here is my boy, published in our local paper, being nominated for a sports award! He was interviewed & had 100's of photos taken by the paper's photographer. He makes me so proud :)

Cardstock: Bazzill
Embellishments: Funky Flair kit elements, washi tape, Kaisercraft alpha dies, Prima alphas, Provo Craft alpha dies, markers
Make a Wish

Over at Show Us Your Stuff, they had a moodboard challenge this month. With it's Summery feel & bright colours, I had to use these photos of Tabitha at her 9th birthday party blowing out candles and making a wish. Being born in February, they were perfect to capture that Summery feel. This is my first time entering a challenge for SUYS!

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill, Francheville, Kaisercraft
Paper: Bella page making kit
Embellishments: Word die, Charms Creations heart, wood veneer word, Kaisercraft fusion pen, paper clip
Life is Beautiful

After a bit of a creating break, I found my mojo again this month & was able to join in on several on-line challenges - it feels so good to create again! This is my entry into the Kraft + Challenges, where you had to use a bike somewhere on your creation. I struggled with ideas for this one, so decided to make a tag as I have realised that I actually love making them!

Products used:

Cardstock: Kraft, Bazzill
Paper: Prima scraps, Bella Glitz - Gold
Embellishments: Kaisercraft die, Kaisercraft All That Glitters die collectables, Funky Flair, Distress Stain - Spun Sugar, Paper Roses die, brad, paper & fabric flowers, ribbon, staple

Make A Wish

Here is my take on this month's challenge over at Scrap The Girls. Wow, did I struggle with this one!? I actually started it 3 times & in the end I was just happy to stick everything down. As a result, I am not 100% happy with the end product... however, it's all about saving the memory, isn't it? Of course, Tabitha's favourite colour is blue, so it had to be a blue birthday! She loved her cake too ;)

Photo Shoot

I was more than happy to play along with this challenge for White With 1 this month, seeing as it is one of my favourite colours - Magenta Purple! Actually, anything in any shade of purple is fine with me! ;) I went simple with this layout as, after a bit of a break, I was a bit 'rusty'. Also, with so many photos on the page, I thought a minimalist approach was in order. Here is my youngest on her way to her CanDance performance with her dance school. Her sister took all these photos while my Mum & I chatted away in the front seats! Tabitha rarely gets nervous before any performance & these photos are proof of that :)

Sooo Tired

Hello all! After Doctor's appointments & then a sinus infection, I haven't had a lot of time to create :( However, I am on the mend now & slowly getting back into it. I am happy to share with you my take on Scrap the Boys August challenge - Not Happy! It was difficult to find one of my son when he is not happy. He seems to always be pulling a face or smiling ridiculously in most photos I have of him, so I was glad this one came to mind & was easy to find. I tend to be pulling out a lot of black, white or Kraft cardstock lately, so I just went with the flow on this one.

Paper: Project Life journal cards
Embellishments: Kaisercraft stencil, Crackle texture paste, Kaisercraft alpha die, Kaisercraft rhinestone arrow, Charms Creations emoji (altered), wood veneer, Franchville enamel dots, Kaisercraft embroided badge, Provo Craft sticker

Happy Place

Well, what a crazy couple of months it has been! Everyone in the house got sick - including the dog - which meant some time off school for each of the kids. Then we have had birthdays, dance exams, Year 11 exams, school holidays, outings... While it has been enjoyable (for the most part) & memorable, there hasn't been a lot of time & mojo for creating. So, sadly this month, I have only got a couple of layouts done. Here is one I managed for Scrap The Boys' challenge this month, the theme was 'Take me to the Ocean'. So, here is hubby at his favourite beach on one of our family holidays, many years ago.

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill, Kaisercraft
Paper: Making Memories (note)worthy Delaney floral, 7 Dots Studio
Embellishments: Distress Ink - Weathered Wood, twine, Kaisercraft chipboard flourish, chipboard word, Tinby Metallic Melts, Kaisercraft alpha stickers, Charms Creations DIY cloud & tab, paper flowers & leaves, shell, wood veneer word tile, Project Life journal card

My Daddy, My Hero

Well, here goes... this layout, done for Scrap the Boys this month, has been 3 years in the making. I have wanted to scrap this photo so many times, but I just wasn't ready. When I saw the theme this month of My Daddy, My Hero, I knew it was time. I apologize to those who may find it morbid or depressing, but it has been sitting in me for the past 3 years & it was time to get it out. I have been accused of wanting sympathy when I share things about my Dad & his passing, but for anyone who knows me, that is simply not the case. I wear my heart on my sleeve at times & am not afraid to be exactly who I am. My Dad was my hero (& in some cases, still is) & I am not afraid to admit, the tears rolled freely as I attempted to write these words. RIP Dad, I will love you forever X

Be Yourself

After missing a couple of months of the Kraft + challenges, I really wanted to get this one done. I was inspired by a layout I saw in a recent copy of Scrapbooking Memories where they had used frames around the photo & I really liked it. However, as I saw more & more people uploading there own layouts, I became slightly discouraged, as they are all so talented. I just didn't feel I had what it takes... Never mind, I pulled up my big girl panties & just did it! I am quite happy with the result :)

Love This

After scouring the amazing inspiration from the DT girls over at Charms Creations, several times mind you, I finally decided to scraplift a page by Charm herself! I actually loved doing this & yes, I got very messy! It only took me a couple of hours to do (allowing for drying time of the Colour Shine & lunch), which was a bonus seeing as I have had a horrible headache all day.
