Cherish Every Moment Together

Well, this layout is aptly called a challenge! This was made for 123 Challenge blog where the theme was Yellow, texture & Together. I was getting stumped with all 3, until I found this paper! I won this in a challenge about 3 years ago at my local scrap shop, Paper Flourish. I knew I had to use it, but now, which photo? When I found this one of my Mum & I when I was 6 months old, I really wasn't sure... However, I went with it & just let it flow. So, I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with it, but, I am at the same time... not sure if that makes sense... I kept with the retro theme, using some chipboard flowers, painted with acrylic paint - who knew I had so many shades of yellow?! I am not a stamper - although you wouldn't think it with all the stamps I actually own! But, how I love stamps, so I pulled them out & lo & behold, I found the stamp to use for the word part of the challenge! I have kept the journalling spots free, as I want my Mum to write on them (as she has on the back of the original photo).

So Beautiful

I was so excited when I saw this photo of my niece with my mother-in-law & noticed little Olivia's dress had orange in it. So perfect for this challenge over at Funky Flairs this month. I was surprised as I went through my endless supplies, how many shades of orange there are! This is the first time I have scrapped a photo of my niece (and just to note, permission has been given from both my MIL & Olivia's parents for their photos to be put up) & I think she is absolutely beautiful. Such a pretty girl, even though she doesn't smile too much for me ;)

Memories of Moonta

Well, as the month progresses, I feel like I am zooming along with these challenges & I am so pleased with myself! :D I feel like I am finally creating for the pleasure of it, rather than comparing myself to all the super-talented scrapping Sista's out there. As long as I'm happy with what I have produced, I'm worrying less of how others see my pages - is that a good thing or not??? Anyway, here is my page for Charms Creations Challenge #2 this month. Don't you just love Charms Creations?!?! I know I do :) I went with a beach theme, to match the challenge & I love how this page finished up. In this photo, I was only 2, my sister 7 & our brother 11. Our cousin Cary is on the end. Something else I'm loving, is looking through my papers & finding gems like this - perfect for a beach photo.

Paper: Bo Bunny Paradise Harbour, Kaisercraft Key to my Heart - Charismatic

Embellishments: Distress Ink - Weathered Wood, Close to my Heart twine - Glacier, Funky Flair, metal charm, Charms Creations map marker, shell embellishments, Thickers - Patchwork, paper flowers

Beautiful

Just sharing my layout for this month's challenge over at White With 1, with the colour being Treetop. I chose not to Google this colour, but instead I started looking at the trees around me. Obviously, most of them are green, but the tops of them, in our Australian Summer had turned yellow, white & even brown. I wanted to incorporate these colours into my layout. I chose this photo of my eldest child, Shalisha, during a photo shoot at school for her photography course. Of all the pictures, this one was my absolute favourite! I don't get to scrap (or even take) many photos of her, as she is at that age where she doesn't like the camera...
